   Biography


After having completed her training as a pianist at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, the Canadian soprano pursued her studies in voice with Tina Torlone and then in Germany at the Cologne Conservatory of Music with Barbara Schlick and Klesie Kelly, where she was awarded a Master’s degree in music (vocal performance). Prize winner at the Concours International de Montréal des Jeunesses Musicales 2002, she sang her debut role in France the same year in the role of Olympia in Les contes d’Hoffmann at the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg. Since then, she has sung the roles of The Queen of the Night at the Volksoper Wien and at the Teatro Carlo-Felice in Genoa and the Grand théâtre de Tours; Tytania in Britten’s A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Opéra de Nice; the title role in Stravinsky’s The Nightingale at the Opéra national du Rhin ; Flaminia in Haydn’s Il mondo della luna at the Rennes, Nantes and Angers Operas; Cunégonde in Bernstein’s Candide at the Opéra de Rouen and the Opéra de Rennes; la Vierge in Honneger’s Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher at the Festival de Montpellier-Radio France (available in DVD); Fiakermilli in Arabella at the Opéra royal de Wallonie in Liège; Adele in Die Fledermaus at the Opéra d’Avignon; Mademoiselle Silberklang/Rosalba in Das theatralische Abenteuer at the Opéra de Rouen; Olympia at the  Opera Lyra of Ottawa and the Opéra de Québec; Miss Ellen in Lakmé at the Opéra de Rennes and the Grand Théâtre de Reims; Donna Fulvia in Rossini’s La Pietra del Paragone at the Opéra de Fribourg and Orianna in Haendel’s Amadigi di Gaula at the Neue Operbühne Berlin.

Moreover, she has been soloist at the Festival de musique sacrée de Nice (2003 and 2004) and with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal led by Jacques Lacombe in 2004. She was rewarded with a fourth prize at the Concours International de Montréal des Jeunesses Musicales 2002 and was a finalist at the Concours de piano-chant Nadia et Lili Boulanger 2003 in Paris. She was granted scholarships by the Richard-Wagner Association, the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada and the Canada Council for the Arts.
